Annual Harry Roberts Memorial Easter Egg Hunt
Harry Roberts began the Chateau Easter Egg Hunt in 1941. Residents of Medora boiled and painted their own eggs and Harry hid them at the Chateau for the children to find on Easter. In Harry’s devoted and fun-loving spirit, we continue the hunt.

History Alive!
These FREE museum theater programs explore the lives and times of local residents from decades gone by, combining theater arts with history. The 30-minute vignettes are based on original letters, diaries, and other documents, many from the archives of the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Catch a free performance every weekend Memorial Day-Labor Day, Saturdays @ 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., & 3:30 p.m. or Sundays @ 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. All times Mountain Standard Time.
Wagon Rides
On select summer weekends, join our wagon vendor and his team of blonde Belgian horses for a ride through the pristine bottomlands! Rides load and unload in the Interpretive Center parking lot. The route follows part of the original road from the town of Medora to the Chateau, and winds through our cottonwood grove where the deer and rabbits roam.
Tickets are available at the Interpretive Center on a first-come-first-served basis.
Museum Mondays
Join us for Museum Mondays at the Chateau! Every Monday from Memorial Day-Labor Day at 6:00 p.m. MST we invite you to play BINGO! to win fun prizes for all. Refreshments for sale, all proceeds assists the Chateau de Morès provide more educational and recreational opportunities like this.
Chateau Macabre
Experience 19th-century frights and sights as you are guided across the Marquis' ranch, haunted by those who once roamed these storied hills. We won't spoil the surprises, but we can tell you this will be a Halloween unlike any other! Learn more here.
Annual Chateau Gingerbread Competition
Our annual gingerbread competition happens during Medora's Old Fashioned Cowboy Christmas celebration on the first weekend in December. Anyone 5 years and older is invited to construct something out of gingerbread and earn the chance to win an amazing local prize!
